Planting Instructions
1. Sowing (Indoors or Outdoors)
Indoor Starting (Recommended for early crops)
: Sow seeds 5mm deep in seed-raising trays using a fine seed compost mix. Keep the soil moist and place in a warm, well-lit position.
Outdoor Sowing
: Sow directly into a finely-prepared seedbed once soil temperatures are between 15–21°C. Sow thinly in rows, watering the soil before dropping the seeds.
2. Transplanting & Maintenance
Hardening Off
: Gradually expose indoor seedlings to outdoor elements for a week before moving them permanently.
Planting Out
: Move seedlings to their final location when they reach about 10cm tall. Firm the soil well around the base and drench with water.
Soil & Feeding
: Plant in well-drained, fertile soil. Top-dress with a balanced NPK or organic vegetable fertilizer once established to support heavy cropping.
3. Harvesting
Main Head
: Cut the main central head while the buds are tight, compact, and completely closed. Cut at a sharp angle slightly down the stem to prevent water from pooling and rotting the stalk.
Side Shoots
: Regular cutting of the primary head triggers rapid development of smaller side shoots, massively extending your harvest window
