A: No. This is a discharge/outlet hose designed to operate under positive pressure. Using it on the intake side will cause the hose to collapse immediately under the pump's vacuum pressure. For the intake side, you must use a rigid, wire-reinforced suction hose.
Q: What pressure rating does this hose carry?
A: Standard 6-inch PVC layflat hoses generally support a working pressure range of 4 to 6 Bar (approx. 58 to 87 PSI). This is ideal for open-ended open-discharge setups such as field flooding, backwashing, or emptying retention ponds. It is not intended for closed pressure applications like high-pressure fire nozzles. 
Q: Why does the hose look wider than 6 inches when it is unrolled out of the box?
A: When a layflat hose is completely empty and flat, its width across the flat edge measures roughly 9.5 inches (240mm). However, once it fills with water and inflates into a cylinder, it will perfectly match a standard 6-inch (150mm) circular diameter, ensuring a tight fit over your 6" pump outlet fittings. 
Q: How should I store the hose to maximize its lifespan?
A: To ensure long-lasting durability, completely drain any leftover water and debris before rolling it back up. While it is treated to handle UV exposure during active use, it is highly recommended to store the coiled hose indoors or in a shaded storage area away from prolonged, direct sunlight when it's not being used.
